Conservation Element: <br />The Conservation Element sets the foundation for the County to protect and preserve its natural <br />environment and resources. The Element ensures resiliency and protects the quality of natural systems <br />within the community. A summary of the changes that are proposed for the Conservation Element are <br />as follows: <br />0 Substantial removal of codified regulations, with reference to said regulations replacing the <br />specific details in the Plan. <br />0 Define what size qualifies as small as it relates to the County's wetland mitigation policy. <br />0 Remove guidance on what factors the "Land Acquisition Guide" must include, in favor of <br />following the recently established Land Acquisition Process created by Conservation Lands staff <br />following Resolution 2022-016 (environmental bond referendum). <br />0 Revise the criteria for reviewing lighting plans for beachfront development. <br />0 Incorporate the Beach Preservation Plan <br />These recommended changes are important to the ongoing conservation measures in the County. <br />Objective 1: Through 20202045, air quality within Indian River County will continue to exceed state <br />and federal minimum ambient air quality standards. <br />Policy 1.1: <br />epAial > > <br />and/or any other- eenditions imposed by the Fire Divisi <br />The County shall regulate land clearing debris burning through the Land Development Regulations <br />(LDRs). <br />Policy 1.2: In coordination with the Office Bureau of Radiation Control and the Indian River County <br />Health Department, the county shall make available information on the detection and control of radon <br />gas. <br />PoKey 1.3!
