ON MOTION by Commissioner Ginn, SECONDED by
Commissioner Macht, the Board unanimously approved
extending the emergency permit up to 90 days with
construction after June 1st, 1997 to take place from private
property only.
11.A. HEARING DATES FOR BOARD TO CONSIDER UPCOMING LDR
AMENDMENTS
The Board reviewed a Memorandum of April 30,1997:
TO: James E. Chandler
County Administrator
DIV SION HEAD CONCURRENCE:
Robert M. Ke ti , AIC
Community Developmen ` irector
FROM: Stan Boling .AICP
Planning Director
DATE: April 30, 1997
SUBJECT: Approval of Hearing Dates for Board Hearings to Consider
Upcoming LDR Amendments
It is requested that the data herein presented be given formal
consideration by the Board of County Commissioners at its regular
meeting of May 6, 1997.
Until the 1995 state legislative session, all land development
regulation (LDR) amendments required two evening hearings of the
Board of County Commissioners. Current law now allows some
flexibility in LDR amendment meeting times, although two hearings
are still required for any proposal to change the uses allowed
within a zoning district.
Currently, staff is processing several LDR amendments, including:
1. Modifying requirements for buffers between new residential
projects and adjacent, active agricultural operations
(initiated by Board of County Commissioners).
2. Allowing banks and financial/credit uses in the PRO zoning
district (initiated by Peter Beuttell). Note: requires 2
public hearings.
3. Modifying off-street parking requirements for hotel/motel
uses, gas station/sales uses, and health and fitness centers
(initiated by Ram Patel and staff).
4. Allowing non-commercial kennels and stables in the AIR -1
zoning district as administrative permit uses, as presently
allowed in other single family zoning districts (staff -
initiated).
5. Residential/commercial landscape buffer issues (initiated by
Planning and Zoning Commission and staff).
6. Concurrency management update (initiated by staff).
These amendments will be ready for Board consideration during the
next several weeks. The Board should now set public hearing dates
to consider these amendments.
MAY 6,1997 78
