Alternative No. 2 <br />Award the Base Bid (items 1-5) and Alternate Bid No. 1 (bleachers and concrete <br />walks) in the total bid amount of $223,547. At the same time, issue Change <br />Order No. 1 to reduce the contract amount by $37,358.96 for a revised contract <br />of $186,188.04. This alternative would result in deleting from the project the new <br />restroom/concessions/press box building and group picnic shelter. <br />Alternative No. 3 <br />Award the Base Bid (Items 1-5), Alternate Bid Item # 1(two sets of bleachers, slabs, <br />and walks) and Alternate Bid # 3 (Pressbox/restrooms/concession stand) in the <br />amount of $256,330.04 plus $1,140 for additional performance bond for a total <br />contract of $257,470.04 <br />RECOMMENDATIONS AND FUNDING <br />Alternative No. 3 is recommended whereby the Base Bid and all alternates 1 and 3 are <br />included in a contract with Change Order No. 1 to reduce the project cost to $257,470.04. <br />Funding to be from the 10 Local Option Sales Tax program. <br />The original budget for Gifford Park and West Wabasso Park was $140,000. At least <br />$40,000 will be needed for Gifford Park, leaving $100,000 of the original budget for West <br />Wabasso Park. An additional $157,470.04 from the 10 Local Option Sales Tax Program <br />is needed. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Macht, SECONDED BY <br />Commissioner Ginn, to approve staX s recommendation. (Alternate No. <br />3) <br />Under discussion, Public Works Director James W. Davis responded to Commissioner Adams' <br />questions concerning the press box and handicapped accessibility. He advised that the ramp would have <br />a 1-12 slope for access to the press box which is elevated about 18" compared to the rest of the building. <br />It is not a 2 -story building. <br />THE CHAIRMAN CALLED THE QUESTION and the motion was <br />carried unanimously. <br />CONTRACT DOCUMENTS & SPECIFICATIONS AND CHANGE ORDER ARE ON FILE <br />IN THE OFFICE OF THE CLERK TO THE BOARD <br />11.H.1.
