Alternative No. 1 <br />Approve the attached agreement which provides for a <br />master plan to develop and implement a local funding <br />program to support the BPP. The project tasks are <br />divided into two phases: <br />• Phase I - Project Benefits/Funding Sources/Economic <br />Analysis -$89,745.00. <br />• Phase II - Legal & Implementation Procedures <br />$28,143.00 <br />The Board of County Commissioners shall issue a notice to proceed <br />for each phase prior to commencement. Once Phase I is completed and <br />accepted by staff, the Board will then issue the notice to proceed <br />for Phase II. <br />This professional service agreement was presented to and approved <br />by the Indian River County Beach and Shore Preservation Advisory <br />Committee on July 13, 1998 during the regular monthly meeting. <br />Alternative No. 2 <br />Deny the professional service agreement and re -negotiate <br />the contract. <br />RECOMM—MATIONS AND FUNDING <br />Staff recommends Alternative No. 1 whereby the entire scope of <br />services is approved. The professional services fee totals <br />$117,888. Funding to be from the Beach Restoration Fund 128. <br />ATTACHMENT <br />Professional Service Agreement <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED <br />by Commissioner Adams to approve Alternative No. 1, as <br />recommended by staff. <br />Commissioner Adams disclosed that her oldest daughter attending college in <br />Tallahassee was working part-time as a runner for Nabors and Giblin, attorneys for Applied <br />Technology & Management, Inc. <br />The Chairman CALLED THE QUESTION and the motion <br />carried unanimously. <br />July 28, 1998 <br />46 <br />0 0 <br />
