"Sontty" Dean, Directorf� <br />Department of General Services <br />Subject: North County Office Space - Lease Renewal <br />Since August 1990, the County has been leasing 2,875 square feet of office space at the Sebastian Square <br />Shipping Center. This space is occupied by Veteran's Services, Clerk ofthe Court, Property Appraiser, <br />and the Utilities Department. The present cost is $7.25 per square foot or $20,843.75 per year and has <br />been since 1992. <br />ANALYSIS: <br />The lease is scheduled to expire October 1, 1998 and the owner, Robert E. Greene has proposed a new <br />four (4) year lease with the following increase in price: <br />Term of Lease Per S.F. Per Month Annual <br />10/1/98 - 9/30/99 $7.75 $1,856.77 $22,281.25 <br />10/1/99 - 9/30/00 $7.75 $1,856.77 $22,281.25 <br />10/1/00 - 9/30/01 $8.00 $1,916.77 $23,000.00 <br />10/1/01- 9/30/02 $8.25 $1976.56 $23,718.75 <br />Upon notificatim of the proposal staff attempted to negotiate the price down but was unsuccessful in that <br />effort <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends Board approval to enter imo the attached agreen= with Robert E. Green for four years <br />with , as depicted above. It is also requested that the Chairman be authorized to execute all applicable <br />documents to effect this lease. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, <br />SECONDED by Commissioner Ginn, the Board <br />unanimously approved the Renewal of Lease <br />Agreement with Robert E.
