D. <br />Clinical Evaluation <br />525.00 <br />Total <br />23,787.52 <br />Chairman Macht commented on the hefty payments to psychologists for evaluations. <br />He understood that these payments are approved by circuit judges and there is no appeal. <br />He suggested that perhaps this should be brought to the attention of the legislature in an <br />attempt to gain more control. <br />Commissioner Adams felt that the matter should be uiscussed with the judiciary prior <br />to going to the legislature. <br />Assistant County Attorney Terry O'Brien noted that these are evaluations done in <br />criminal cases to determine whether or not the defendant is competent to stand trial.
