SIC Code 48 Communications <br />► SIC Code 737 Computer Programming, Data Processing, and other <br />Computer Related Services <br />► SIC Code 80 Health Services <br />Proposed Action: REVISE POLICY <br />The county, in coordination with the Indian River County Chamber of Commerce, shall establish <br />a list of target industries and evaluate this list at least every two years in order to reflect the current <br />economic needs of the county as well as the actual marketing results. The following is the current <br />list of the county's target industries: <br />► SIC Code 0273 <br />Animal Aquaculture <br />► SIC Code 20 <br />Food and Kindred Products <br />► SIC Code 27 <br />Printing and Publishing <br />► SIC Code 34 <br />Fabricated Metal Products <br />► SIC Code 35 <br />Industrial and Commercial Machinery and Comp <br />Equipment <br />► SIC Code 37 <br />Transportation Equipment <br />► SIC Code 47 <br />Transportation Services <br />► SIC Code 48 <br />Communications <br />► SIC Code 737 <br />Computer Programming, Data Processing, and o <br />Computer Related Services <br />► SIC Code 80 <br />Health Services <br />► Other clean light industries that have average annual wages which are above <br />countv-wide averaee annual wase <br />Policy 2.7: The county, through the Indian River County Chamber of Commerce and its Economic <br />Development Division, shall focus its recruitment activities on businesses which are within target <br />industries, SIC codes 20 through 39, and which provide year round employment opportunities. <br />Action: DELETE POLICY <br />r Policy 2.7 are already covered by Policy 1.3 and <br />Policy 3.4: The county shall provide support to the Indian River County Chamber of Commerce and <br />its Economic Development Division for undertaking a survey of local industries to determine what <br />type of training and assistance is needed. The survey will be conducted on an annual basis, and the <br />results will be reported to the Economic Development Council. <br />Action: DELETE POLICY <br />y has been combined with policy 1.5. <br />L15: The county, through the Indian River County Chamber of Commerce, shall inform <br />ig and potential employers of available employment training opportunities through Indian <br />Community College and/or the Jobs and Education Partnership program. <br />(Proposed Action: DELETE POLICY <br />Policy 1.8 performs this action. <br />Policy 4.1: The county, through its Comprehensive Plan and Land Development Regulations, i <br />maintain and/or improve the quality of life by providing protection of environmental, cultural, <br />aesthetic features of the county. <br />Proposed Action: REVISE POLICY <br />The county, through its Comprehensive Plan and Land Development Regulations, shall maintain <br />and/or improve its characteristics which attract businesses to Indian River County by providing <br />protection for its environmental, cultural, and aesthetic features. <br />Policy 4.3: The county shall on a regular basis re-evaluate the size and location of its <br />l <br />commercial/industrial nodes. <br />Proposed Action: DELETE POLICY <br />This policy has been combined with policy 1.10.
