PROCLAMATION OBSERVING MAY I THROUGHMAY 6.2000 AS LAW <br />WEEK IN INDIAN RIVER COUNTY <br />Moved from Item 5. <br />The following Proclamation was entered into the record: <br />PROCLAMATION <br />WHEREAS. May 1 is LAW DAY in the United States of America, and the theme this year of <br />LAW WEEK is to "Celebrate Your Freedom: Democracy and Diversity". and <br />WHEREAS, May 1' through 6a is officially recognized as Law Week in Indian River County, <br />Florida; and <br />WHEREAS, the United States of America has been the citadel of individual liberty and a beacon <br />of hope and opportunity for more than 200 years to marry millions who have sought our shores and relied <br />upon our justice system; and <br />WHEREAS, the foundation of individual freedom and liberty is the body of law that governs us; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the Constitution of the United States of America and the Bill of Rights are the heart <br />of that body of law, which guarantees us many freedom including fi ecdom of religious belief: ficedom to <br />have and to hold property inviolate, freedom of assembly, freedom of speech, freedom of press, freedom <br />of petition, and due process of law among others; and <br />WHEREAS, this year marks the 43rd annual nationwide observance of LAW DAY, <br />ACCORDING TO THE OFFICIAL PROCLAMATION OF THE United States Congress and the <br />President. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCIAIMED BY THE INDIAN RIVER COUNTY BOARD <br />OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS that May 1 through May 6, 2000 be observed as <br />LAW WEEK <br />in Indian River County, and the Board calla upon all citizens, schools, businesses. clubs, and the news media I <br />to commemorate the role of law in our lives. <br />Adopted this ISth day of April. 2000. <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS I <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA <br />Fran B.
