The Indian River County Code provides for routine renewal of the Certificate of Public Convenience <br />and Necessity on application by the certificate holder. This can be accomplished without a public <br />hearing if the Board has no reason to believe that the public health. safety. and welfare require it. <br />Staff submits that there is no reason to hold a public hearing and absent that requirement. requests <br />the Board to issue and renew the certificates routinely. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff submits that it would be more expedient for the County and Able Ambulance and Health <br />Services. Inc. to renew both certificates at the same time inasmuch as they are both due within a <br />short time frame. Therefore. staffrespectfully recommends that the Board ofCountv Commi ssioners <br />approve. and renew. the Class B certificate to provide non -emergency ALS/BLS interfacilit- <br />transport services and Class E certificate to provide wheelchair transportation services. private pay <br />only.
