Owens be increased to $25.00, <br />that the allowance of C. E. Hamilton be increased to $6.00, and the allowance of Sarah Padgettl <br />be increased to $10.00iuntil the further order of the board. <br />The minutes of June 15th and 23rd were read and approved. <br />Mrs. Rose M. Toohey, supervisor of the W. P. A. Sewing Room reported that 18 mattres� <br />covers had been made for the County to be used in -the County Jail. <br />Leila M. Bunkley, County Nurse made a verab le report of her activities for the month <br />of July. She reported in particular regarding the case and care of S. F. Owens stating that <br />he is blind and in need of some one to look after and care for him and suggested that the <br />Board increase his monthly allowance from $6.00 to $25.00 in order that the necessary arrang- <br />ments might be made for him. On motion made by Edwin A. Helseth seconded by S. E. Glover and <br />carried this increase was granted. Miss Bunkley also reported four Tuberculosis cases in the <br />County -and that in all probabilities the Sanatorium in Orlando will be ready for occupancy in <br />October. <br />Mrs. Clarance Yates appeared before the Board and requested assistance from the <br />County. This request was denied. <br />It was ordered that Miss Leila M. Bunkley, County Nurse make a survey of all of the <br />persons receiving assistance from the County and report back to the Board her findings as to <br />whether or not said persons are entitled to receive the assistance. <br />Mr. McGrath representing the Florida National Ekhibits Incorporated appe <br />before the Board and requested the sum of $424.00 1_ be appropriated as this County's share <br />of the Florida State Exhibit of the Great Lakes Exposition at Cleveland, Ohio. He pointed out <br />the many advantages of this form of advertising. After careful consideration and discussion <br />"o - <br />it was moved'by Commissioner Poole, seconded by Commissioner Helseth and carried that: <br />The budget of this Board for the fiscal year 1937 - 1938 be and it is amended in that <br />4IL $424.00 of the item of $1800.00 under "Incidentals"' provided in said Budget under the "General <br />Revenue Fund" be and it is appropriated to The Florida National Exhibits, Inc., a non-profit <br />organization devoted to State advertising and to be so used. If <br />Mr. R. R. Martin, Fort Pierce, F:.orida appeared before the Board and requested that <br />immediate action be taken in clearing a ten foot trail on the peninsular from Riomar to the <br />South County line. On motion made by Edwin A. Helseth, seconded by E. P. Poole and carried <br />Frank A. Knight, Road Superintendent, was instructed and guthorized to contract this job at <br />the lowest possible cost and to proceed with the work at once. <br />'Mr. 0. D. Carrico, District Manager of the eater Locks Company of Detroit, Michigan <br />appeared before the Board regarding water proof tong oil- paints and cauking for the Court Hous <br />He was advised however that the leaks had apparently been stopped but .that this Board would <br />keep his products in mind for future needs. <br />
