requesting the County to grade and.surface the street know. as Gibson street extending from <br />Nichols avenue south to Orr avenue and grade surface Orr avenue from Gibson street east to <br />School street on the west a distance of three blocks also; to grade and surface Baird Street <br />from Berry Avenue two blocks south to Orr Avenue; <br />Also; to Fill the corner at the intersection of Sebastian Avenue and Gibson Street; <br />Also; to fill the corner of the intersection of Berry Avenue and Gibson Street; <br />Also; to place rock on,the Sebastian Avenue (Bay Shore Road) to the Dixie Highway, <br />was approved and E. F. Carter, Road SupmP ntendant was authorized to proceed with the placing <br />of marl on the roads as requested in the petition. <br />The Board requested E. E. Carter, Road Superintendent to select a place from each <br />district in the County from which sand and marl could be obtained with the idea,,of the County <br />purchasing said places for future use. <br />On motion made by Albert 0. Helseth, seconded by W. C. Graves, Jr and unanimously <br />carried it was ordered a warrant be issued on the General Revenue Fund to S. P. Starbird in the <br />sum of $20.05 for additional canning equipment., <br />Douglas Baker, Clerk was requested to write W. P. A. Headquarters with regard to e <br />supervisor for the canning Project in Indian River County. <br />It was moved by N. C. Graves, Jr, Seconded by Albert 0. Helseth and unanimously <br />carried that the sum of $50.00 be paid from the funds of Vero -Quay Bridge District to the Indi <br />River Fire Protective Association for maintenance tind operation including labor, gas and oil <br />for the growers fire truck for fire protection of public bridges and culverts in the Vero and <br />Quay Bridge Districts. <br />Deputy Sheriffs Bond for. Glen S. Huff, Fellsmere, Florida in the sum of $1000 with <br />Samuel Mensh and Clayton T. Browneas sureties was approved. <br />It was ordered the Inspectors and Clerk of the several voting precincts of the County <br />who served for the first Primary election held Tuesday, May 7, 1940 be paid according to state - <br />meats approved by this Board and on file'in the Clerk's office and the Clerk was instructed to <br />issue the warrants in settlement of said claim against the County. <br />The Board then proceeded to and did name and select the following persons as Inspect- <br />ors and Clerk of Flection of the various precincts to hold and conduct the second Primary <br />Election to.be held.May 289 1940, to -wit: <br />INCT NO. 1,ROSELAND <br />L.
