Mitchell, Attorney, was requested to write Mr. Emory of the State Road <br />' Department, calling his attention to badly needed drainage along the Fellsmere-Sebastian road, <br />'said road having been greatly harmed by improper drainage. <br />The following letter from B. Graves: <br />I am enclosing herewith a bid from Mr. Foster for throwing up road from the county <br />road to the lake thru the north end of my property --to which I will be glad to deed you a right <br />of -way. <br />At the time Mr. Foster was out there, my jeep was not there and we went up there in <br />Tom's Ford which does not have a speedometer and we were unable to determine the exact distance, <br />That is the reason the bid is on a mileage basis. <br />Indian River County <br />Vero Beach, Florida <br />Dear Sirs: <br />Very truly yours, <br />/s/ B. Holman <br />4 July 1945 <br />Melbourne, Florida <br />After careful consideration on offering a price for building a dirt road near Mr. <br />Bud Holman's place in Vero Beach, I am submitting the following bid: <br />BASE TOP AVERAGE HEIGHT PRICE <br />14 ft. 10 ft. 2 ft. 1;075 per mile <br />14 ft. 10 ft. 2i ft. $1,200 per mile <br />At the time of my conversation with Mr. Holman, I was unable to quote a price as <br />the exaot distance of the road or size of the fill was unknown. If the above bid is accepted, <br />it will probably'be some little time before I could actually begin the work. <br />The same average prices would prevail if the road is to be more or less than one <br />mile. <br />Very truly yours, <br />J. Bein- <br />dorf, President of the City Council, advising that the Board of County Commissioners would be <br />glad to meet with the City Council at such time and place as they may suggest for the purpose <br />of considering and authorizing application to the Fedetal Government for a loan to cover costs <br />of preparing plans and specifications for a new post-war hospital for Indian River County. <br />A letter was received from Mr. Milliard F. Ingalls requesting the purchase of some <br />land owned by the County and located near the County Jail. Chairman Graves appointed Albert <br />0. Helseth and R. W. Graves as a committee to investigate said request and report to the Board,' <br />It was ordered that the sum of $8,000.00 representing excess race track funds be <br />paid to the Board of public Instruction of Indian River County from the General Revenue Fund. <br />
