<br />oaths, came J. J. Schumann, business manager of the

<br />first duly sworn, says that the Vero Beach Press -
<br />Journal is a newspaper which has been continuously
<br />published at least once a week, and which has been
<br />entered as second class mail matter, in Vero Beach,

<br />Notice is hereby being given that the
<br />Board of County Commissioners of Indian'
<br />River County, Florida, requests sealed pro-
<br />posals offering for sale to said County
<br />the following, to -wit:
<br />2—Printing Calculators that divide auto-
<br />matically and print dividend,divisor, quoti-
<br />ent and remainder. That multiply electri-
<br />cally and print multiplicand, multiplier
<br />and product or'any machine that can per
<br />form like or similar work.
<br />BID for photo -recording equipment con-
<br />sisting of a photo -recording machine and
<br />the necessary accessories for pressing,.
<br />trimming and punching the prints, pre-'
<br />paratory to binding. Complete specificat-
<br />ions for this machine and the accessories
<br />may be obtained from Douglas Baker,
<br />Clerk. All machines , and equipment de-
<br />Iivered and installed Vero' Beach, Florida,
<br />and which proposals may be delivered to
<br />the Clerk of the Circuit Court in. said
<br />County at the hour of 10:00 o'clock A.
<br />M., Tuesday, August ` 6, 1946- . and at
<br />which time the same may be publieally
<br />opened and read aloud at a meeting of
<br />said Board'to be held, in the Indian River
<br />County •Court House, Vero Beach, Florida.

<br />Pursuant to the foregoing NOTICE INVITING BIDS the following bids and/or proposals
<br />were received. a

<br />Gentlemen:
<br />We wish to submit the following proposal covering the delivery of Printing Calculators that
<br />divide automatically and print divident divisor, quotient and remainder. That multiply elect
<br />rically and print multiplicand' multiplier and product.
<br />We will furnish two Remington Rand Printing Calculators that meet the above specifications at
<br />a price of $442.40 each or total of $884.80.
<br />You will of course, furnish tax exemption certificates since machines that are used entirely
<br />for county work are not subject to U. S. Excise Tax.
<br />Thank you very much for the privilege of submitting the above proposal.

<br />We called on the offices who are going to use these machines and we made a demonstration of
<br />the Marchant Calculating Machine with the hope that we might have you change your advertise-
<br />ment to give us a chance to bid on this business. As it is now, it is not an advertisement
<br />for bids at all because there is only one company that makes a machine such as you are advertis
<br />-Ing for and.that is the Remington Rand.
