Request for BCC Authorization to Initiate a Land Development <br />p.m. Regulation (LDR) Amendment to Dissolve the Zoning Board of <br />Adjustment and Grant the Planning and Zoning Commission <br />Authority to Consider Variances <br />(memorandum dated December 8, 2014) <br />Community Development Director Stan Boling provided <br />background and analysis on staffs request to dissolve the <br />Zoning Board of Adjustment and transfer that authority to the <br />Planning & Zoning Commission (P&Z). <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Vice Chairman Solari, SECONDED <br />by Commissioner O'Bryan, to direct staff to initiate a Land <br />Development Regulation (LDR) amendment to dissolve the <br />Zoning Board of Adjustment and to delegate the authority to <br />consider and grant zoning related setback variances to the <br />Planning and Zoning Commission (P & Z). <br />Vice Chairman Solari initiated a brief discussion, with input <br />from Chairman Davis, about the possibility of other County <br />departments exploring opportunities to reduce the number of <br />County committees. <br />MOTION WAS AMENDED by Vice Chairman Solari, <br />SECONDED by Commissioner O'Bryan, to commend the <br />Community Development Department for a job well done, and <br />encourage other County departments to bring forth similar <br />measures to bring about Committee reductions. <br />There was no further discussion. <br />The Chairman CALLED THE QUESTION and the Motion <br />carried unanimously. <br />12' DEPARTMENTA TTERS <br />B. <br />Emergency Servic <br />None <br />C.
