The Director of Economic Development works with other Chamber staff, county <br /> government representatives (elected and staff), volunteer Chamber and local committees <br /> and task forces in an effort to formulate and implement the overall Marketing Plan. The <br /> Director is responsible for the planning, organizing and development of a continuous <br /> program of business and industrial research, including cost of living, population trends, <br /> income, labor force availability, skills, needs of local industry and other special assignments. <br /> The Director works under the supervision of the President of the Indian River County <br /> Chamber of Commerce. Partial funding for the Economic Development Director position is <br /> through the county's General Fund. <br /> Receptionist - Receiving and directing calls, reservations for meetings, and support services <br /> as needed for special meetings and events. Assistance in non-management activities <br /> associated with this office, emails, faxes, copying. Funding for this position is completely <br /> covered by the Chamber and its Tourism Division. <br /> Comptroller - Requiring approximately 15 percent of a full-time position. The Comptroller is <br /> responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial documentation for <br /> county quarterly reports, monthly updates and reports for internal use. The Comptroller <br /> assists in budget preparation and maintenance, and serves as the liaison between the <br /> Chamber and the county's Budget Office for fiscal related inquiries and reimbursement of all <br /> economic development elated invoices. <br /> President - Requires approximately 50 percent of a full-time position. Responsible for <br /> oversight of all economic development and business retention efforts, and the supervision of <br /> all staff Works closely with elected officials and government staff, Chamber staff, and <br /> volunteers on the planning, coordination, implementation and administration of the economic <br /> development plan. <br /> Communications/Website Manager - Serves as the primary source for the coordination of <br /> specific communications including website updates and posting of demographic information; <br /> general response and direct communications routing of email information requests regarding <br /> economic development efforts and/or leads. <br /> 6. If yes, please briefly describe. <br /> The program utilizes over 70 volunteer professionals from the business and residential <br /> communities and the public sector: Business volunteers are generated through the <br /> Chamber's Economic Development Division. <br /> Dozens of Chamber professionals volunteer their time to serve in a variety of ways to assist <br /> in planning, creating, and implementing strategies associated with meeting the goals of the <br /> Chamber's Economic Development Division. Each of these business professionals provides <br /> more than two hours of their services each month. <br /> 6 142 <br />
