Ovens of Wabasso discussed the matter of a caution or blinker./at the cross <br />roads in Wabasso, and Commissioner Stewart appointed Commissioner Hamilton and Watts as a_ <br />committee to work with Rev. Owens in the matter and to confer with and obtain the County <br />Attorney's opinion when all information had been obtained -together with the costs and report <br />back to this Board. <br />Attorney George Heath was instructed to prepare a Notice Inviting Bids on address <br />plates for the office of the Supervisor of Registration. Notion was made by Commissioner <br />Graves, seconded by Commissioner Waddell and carried as to the advertising for bids. <br />A letter was received from J. A.,Thompson, County School Superintendent,with regard <br />to the need of some grading, filling, leveling, etc. of the school grounds between the present <br />buildings and the football field, requesting the use of City and County equipment, and that <br />the school Board would pay the cost of operation of such equipment. A committee considting <br />and <br />Chairman Stewart,/E. E. Carter, Road and Bridge Superintendent, was selected from this Board <br />to work with Superintendent Thompson and Councilman Lou Berger of the City of Vero Beach, <br />with the understanding that said committee would have power to act after mutual and satis- <br />factory plans and arrangements had been made. <br />A letter was received from the Indian River County chapter American Red Cross re - <br />questing funds to purchase a new station wagon stating that the Rotary Club and City of Vero <br />Beach had made contributions for the purchase of the station wagon. Upon motion of Commissioner <br />Graves, seconded by Commissioner Waddell and carried, the Board agreed to contribute a <br />like amount for the purchase of the station wagon as was contributed by the City of Vero <br />Beach. Said amount, however, was not stated. <br />The Board authorized and instructed E. E. Carter, Road and Bridge Superintendent, <br />for <br />to make or have prepared stencils to be used/by designating certain roads within the County <br />and to print the name of Indian River County on County machinery, ad equipment. <br />Homer Fletcher, Tax Assessor, appeared before the Board and requested permission <br />to purchase new sheets and a binder for his plat book records, stating that same could be <br />purchased from the Morse Prij tia- gCompany for approximately $140.00. Upon motion of <br />Commissioner Graves, seconded by Commissioner Waddell and carried, said request was granted. <br />E S 4 L U T 0 S - REGULATING CLOSING HQURS ,AS TO SLE OF ALM= BEVERAGES <br />Commissioner Hamilton introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption as <br />follows, to -wits <br />BE* IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, Floridag <br />that said Board does herewith independently regulate the hours of sale of alcoholic beverages <br />within the territory -of Indian River County, Florida, not included within any municipality$ <br />as follows, to -wits <br />1.. No alcoholic beverages, that isp all beverages containing more than One per <br />cent (1%) bf-alcohol by weighty may be sold,.consumed-or served or permitted to be served or <br />consumed in any place holding a license under the State Beverage Department of Florida be- <br />tween the hours of 1s00 o'clock A. M. and 6s00 o'clock A. M. of each week day <br />2. No alcoholic beverages containing alcohol of more than One per cent (1%) by <br />weight and not more than Fourteen per cent (14%) by weight and wines, regardless of alcohol <br />content, may be sold, consumed or served or permitted to be served or consumed in any place <br />
