<br />A letter was received from Mr. E. G. Thatcher, Secretary, Vero Beach Chamber of
<br />Commerce, requesting a location survey relating to "INDIAN RIVER DRIVE" as an alternate route
<br />to relieve traffic on U. S. No. 1. Upon motion of Commissioner Waddell, seconded by Commission=
<br />er Hamilton and carried, said request was approved and E. E. Carter, Road and Bridge Superintenl
<br />dent, together with Sherman N. Smith, Jr., Attorney, were requested to contact Hon. Merrill P.
<br />,'Barber, Member State Road Department, to see if assistance could be obtained from the State.
<br />Application for a license to carry fire arms from Melvin Koerner, Manager, Shell
<br />Service Station, was referred to Sheriff L. B. O'Steen for investigation and report to the Boar4-
