<br />E. E. Carter, Road and Bridge Superintendent, was instructed to inquire of the I1
<br />County Road and Bridge employees as to whether or not they wished to participate under the Social �
<br />Security Act.
<br />The Board authorized a letter to Mr. L. A. Davis, Wabasso, Florida, agreeing to
<br />moving a fence line and re -locate same in consideration of his conveying to the State Road De -

<br />,partment the right-of-way for extension and improvement of State Road #510, as per copy of lett4r
<br />on file in the Clerk's Office.
<br />A letter was received from Mr. E. G. Thatcher, Secretary, Vero Beach Chamber of
<br />Commerce, requesting a location survey relating to "INDIAN RIVER DRIVE" as an alternate route
<br />to relieve traffic on U. S. No. 1. Upon motion of Commissioner Waddell, seconded by Commission=
<br />er Hamilton and carried, said request was approved and E. E. Carter, Road and Bridge Superintenl
<br />dent, together with Sherman N. Smith, Jr., Attorney, were requested to contact Hon. Merrill P.
<br />,'Barber, Member State Road Department, to see if assistance could be obtained from the State.
<br />Application for a license to carry fire arms from Melvin Koerner, Manager, Shell
<br />Service Station, was referred to Sheriff L. B. O'Steen for investigation and report to the Boar4-
<br />The Board authorized expenses for Commissioners Hamilton and Waddell to attend
<br />.the semi-annual meeting of the State Association of County Commissioners to be held in Jackson
<br />Ville, Florida on November 19, 1951.
<br />Douglas Baker, Clerk, stated that he had received a check in the sum of $7.00 from
<br />Mr. N. V. Eve, Winter Beach, Florida, as per lease agreement on Winter Beach bridgehead land.
<br />Deputy Sheriff bonds in the sum of $1000.00 each with St. Paul Mercury Indemnity"
