40 <br />its President that the offer for Court nous. site and Jail and financial donation.offere <br />was received, read and filed for future consideration. <br />The following Road petition was received and read: <br />ROAD PETITION <br />STATE OF FLORIDA ) <br />COUNTY Or INDIAN RIVER) <br />To the Honorable Board of County Commissioners of said County: <br />Gentlemen: <br />We, the undersigned, citizens of the County of Indian River, State of Florida, <br />respectfully represent that the necessities of the public require a County hoed to be <br />laid out as follows, to -wit: Commencing at The south city limits of Vero Beach, Fla. <br />thence running Southerly along the ocean beach to the South line of Indian River County. <br />Said road right-of-way to be not lese than eighty feet in width. <br />We therefore petition your honorable body to cause to be laid out and opened a <br />County Hoed as above described, and we, the owners of the land through which said road <br />is sought to be laid out, in consideration of the sum of tine dollar to us each and sever- <br />ally in hand paid by the said county of Indian River the receipt of which is hereby <br />acknowledged, hereby agree to give the right-of-way through our lands, as shown by the <br />plat accompanying this petition, and relinquish all claims for damage by reason thereof. <br />It was ordered that the petition be filed and D. L. Leisher, R. J. Maher and Albert <br />0. Helseth be appointed viewers to view mark at and lay out the road and report to this <br />Board. <br />It was ordered that the Chairman and the County :engineer be authorized to purchase <br />a site for tool house and etc. for the best available price not to exceed $300.00 per <br />acre. <br />The following with respect to Culverts was adopted: <br />1. That all flumes. culverts, wood boxes. etc., now in existence, crossing under any <br />of the roads to be paved under the Special Road and Bridge District #4 bond issue of <br />July 1, 1925, shall be replaced or permanent culverts or. pipes of terra cotta, cast iron, <br />galvanized iron (of an approved gage), or other permanent and durable material. <br />2. That these culverts shall be installed by the property owner maintaining the <br />drainage dit hes served thereby. This work shall be done well in advance of any grading <br />on the section of the road affected. The work of installing these culverts shall be done <br />under the direction and in accordance with plans prepared by the County Engineer. <br />3. That the County Engineer be instructed to maintain at the County garage a supply <br />of the sizes and types needed for sale to the property owners desiring the same for uas <br />under this resolution at cost plus WI allowance for overhead. <br />4.
