• • <br />ON MOTION by Acting Vice Chairman Ginn, SECONDED <br />BY Commissioner Neuberger, the Board unanimously adopted <br />Resolution No. 2002-098 directing depositories of County <br />funds to honor certain authorized signatures on County checks, <br />warrants, and other orders for payment; providing for Board of <br />County Commissioners and Clerk of the Circuit Court <br />signatories; rescinding Resolution No. 2002-0001; and <br />providing for an effective date. <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2002- 098 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, <br />D IRECTING DEPOSITORIES OF COUNTY FUNDS TO <br />H ONOR CERTAIN AUTHORIZED SIGNATURES ON <br />COUNTY CHECKS, WARRANTS, AND OTHER ORDERS <br />FOR PAYMENT; PROVIDING FOR BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS AND CLERK OF THE CIRCUIT COURT <br />S IGNATORIES; RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO 2002-001; <br />AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, on November 12, 2002, the Board of County Commissioners of <br />Indian River County ("Board") selected Kenneth R. Macht as Chairman from November <br />19 2002 until January 7, 2003, and Caroline D. Ginn as Vice Chairman from November <br />19 2002 until January 7, 2003; and <br />WHEREAS, Jeffrey K. Barton is the duly elected Clerk of the Circuit Court for <br />Indian River County ('Clerk'), and he serves as clerk and accountant to the Board, <br />pursuant to Section 125.17 Florida Statutes (2002); and <br />WHEREAS, the Board has previously designated certain institutions as <br />depositories of County funds; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board s selection of Chairman and Vice Chairman requires a <br />redesignation of signatories for County warrants, checks, and other orders for the <br />payment of money drawn on the County's depositones; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board has determined that the existing financial practices <br />concerning personnel policies and employee compensation eliminate the need to <br />require manual signatures on salary and other compensation warrants, checks, and <br />other orders payable to Board employees. <br />November 19, 2002 <br />25 <br />
