In addition to compensation for the land , the Developer is requiring that the County <br /> construct two median openings along the half mile frontage of Kings Highway between <br /> Oslo Road and 5"' Street SW. On the remainder of the project, only one median opening <br /> will be constructed on the half mile stretch between east-west side streets. <br /> This Developer's Agreement with Laurel Homes is one of seven (7) acquisitions remaining <br /> on the Kings Highway project. Including the Laurel Builders property, four parcels are still <br /> needed for road right-of-way, two are needed for both road right-of--way and stormwater <br /> ponds , and one (Laurel ) is needed for a stormwater pond . <br /> RECOMMENDATIONS AND FUNDING <br /> Staff recommends the Board of County Commissioners approve the $27,000 . 00 purchase , <br /> and authorize the Chairman to execute the Agreement. <br /> Funding to be from Account #315-214-541 -066 . 12 <br /> Public Works Director Jim Davis stated that staff is trying to resolve the last 4 or 5 <br /> parcels in an attempt to reach an amicable agreement . There is a possibility that 1 or 2 may <br /> have to be obtained by eminent domain procedure and the County Attorney ' s Office has <br /> already been contacted . Staff is now bidding the project with construction to begin after <br /> Easter . <br /> ON MOTION by Commissioner Stanbridge, <br /> SECONDED by Commissioner Tippin, the Board <br /> unanimously approved the $27 , 000 purchase and <br /> authorized the Chairman to execute the agreement, <br /> as recommended by staff. <br /> AGREEMENT IS ON FILE IN THE OFFICE <br /> OF THE CLERK TO THE BOARD <br /> DECEMBER 5 , 2000 <br /> BK1 16 PG 3 10 <br /> - 6 & <br />
