ON MOTION by Vice Chairman O'Bryan, SECONDED <br />by Commissioner Flescher, the Board unanimously <br />authorized staff to submit a letter to the Florida <br />Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) <br />requesting the removal of the landfill permit condition that <br />requires construction and demolition recycling, based on it <br />not being financially viable for SWDD as recommended <br />in the memorandum dated March 12, 2012. <br />AGREEMENT ON FILE IN THE OFFICE OF THE CLERK TO THE BOARD <br />15. B.2. MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE CITY OF <br />VERO BEACH AND INDIAN RIVER COUNTY FOR MONITORING <br />WELL INSTALLATION ON CITY AIRPORT PROPERTY <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Flescher, <br />SECONDED by Commissioner Davis, to approve staff's <br />recommendation. <br />Vice Chairman O'Bryan voiced concerns over the Florida Department of Environmental <br />Protection (FDEP) continually requiring more and more data and the amount of employee hours <br />that it entails. <br />Director Mehta explained the monitoring programs and process, the submittal of required <br />reports and additional data that is sometimes requested, and complying with their regulations. <br />BK 142PG252 <br />March 20, 2012 2 <br />
