Discussion ensued regarding the responsibilities of the new person. It was clarified that <br />the Public Works employee would be handling both the code enforcement and educational issues <br />pertaining to fertilizer and landscape management. <br />Attorney Reingold advised that he would return to the Board with details on the new <br />position; an amendment to Resolution 92-59 regarding penalties for County Code Violations; <br />and recommendations on fines and timeframes relative to notices and satisfactions of violations <br />of Ordinance 2013-012. <br />The Chairman CALLED THE QUESTION, and the <br />Motion and Amendment carried unanimously. <br />Vice Chairman Davis reiterated the recommendations of the Agricultural Advisory <br />Committee. <br />ON MOTION by Vice Chairman Davis, SECONDED by <br />Chairman Flescher, the Board unanimously approved to <br />reclassify the County as a central region in the University <br />of Florida (UF) Institute of Food & Agricultural Sciences <br />(IFAS) Extension Administrative Distncts. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Vice Chairman Davis, <br />SECONDED by Commissioner O'Bryan, to insert in the <br />last sentence of Section 316.7(c) that "nitrogen or <br />phosphorous fertilizer shall not be applied ...unless a soil <br />or plant tissue deficiency has been verified by a University <br />of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences <br />approved testing methodology." <br />August 20, 2013 45 <br />BK 144 PG 223 <br />
