After some discussion in the matter and <br />upon Motion made by Commissioner Robert Graves, seconded by Commissioner Macdonald and un- <br />animously carried the Board authorized advertising in said Journal in the amount of $250.00. <br />Robert Graves was appointed to work with the magazine staff to select the correct advertising. <br />Mr. E. H. Auten appeared before the Board and presented the following Petition: <br />To: The Board of County Commissioners <br />of Indian River County, Florida <br />Gentlemen: <br />P E T I T I O N <br />The undersigned E. H. Auten and Mary Louise Auten, his wife, do herewith petition <br />you to adopt a resolution vacating, abolishing and abandoning a public roadway over, on and <br />across the Southeast 20 feet and the Southwest 20 feet of Lot 40 in Section 21, Fleming <br />Grant, Township 30 South, Range 38 East, according to Berry's Subdivision of the Fleming <br />Grant revised from Carter's Survey as set forth and described in the deed recorded in Deed <br />Book 20, page 29, St. Lucie County, Florida, records, now situated in Indian River County, <br />Florida, and requesting said Board to renounce and disclaim any right of said County for the <br />public in and to that certain roadway above described delineated on said plat as a street, <br />road or highway. That, said lands have no delinquent taxes or assessments levied against the <br />same and are now located in Indian River County, Florida, and none of the same constitute <br />a State or Federal Highway. <br />Yours very truly, <br />S1 E. Graves <br />and unanimously carried said petition was received and filed and notice of public hearing <br />ordered to be advertised. <br />The Secretary informed the Board that Ben Potter, who was high bidder for the junk <br />advertised for sale by the county, had failed to pay the balance of his bid price.
