n u 1 1 is 1 is 1 1 • imously carried, the Board declared that the deposit made by Mr. Ben Potter of $50.00 on the purchase of junk be forfeited to the County and that the county now offers the junk to the second high bidder, George Martin, on his bid price of $413.13, and if he does not accept, then it will be readvertised for sale. The County Attorney gave a report on the condemnation suit for U. S. #1 Highway. Mrs. Chesser of Wabasso appeared before the Board and asked if the Commissioners could do anything about closing a beer place operating on her property. The Board informed her there was nothing they could do, but that she could refuse to rent further to them. Sam Joyce, Sheriff appeared before the Board with reference to.some small repair bills for the County Jail, stating he thought these bills should be paid by the County. The Secretary stated they had a letter from the Comptroller's office which stated small repair bills should be paid by the Sheriff's office under its new budget and that major repairs would be paid by the County. The Board then stated they would have to go by the ruling made by the Comptroller's office and pay for only major repairs. The County Attorney stated he had received an answer from the State Road Department stating they would post signs from the West City Limits of Vero Beach and a point .5 mile west showing this to be a 45 MPH speed zone and a resume speed sign .5 mile west of the west city limits on Road 60.
