and materials will be selected . The wellhead design completed under the existing contract will <br /> be incorporated into the construction specifications . The well will connect to the raw water <br /> transmission main that conveys water to the plant. Specifications for materials, equipment, and <br /> drilling techniques will be prepared . <br /> CDM will prepare contract drawings for construction of the new well and appurtenances . <br /> Proper siting of the well and associated appurtenances will be critical to the success of the <br /> project. The connecting piping will be PVC or other suitable material acceptable to County staff <br /> and will be provided with isolation valves as required . CDM will obtain the services of a <br /> professional land surveyor to provide horizontal control of the proposed well and associated <br /> appurtenances, if necessary. <br /> The production well design is anticipated to be similar to the existing wells; however, the casing <br /> size may be changed to facilitate pump equipment installation and removal . The casing size <br /> will be coordinated with SJRWMD staff as required . The control system concept and <br /> supervisory control and data acquisition system for the existing well will be used for the new <br /> well . The electric utility service for the existing well will be used for the new well . The <br /> telemetry system obtained in Task 1 will be installed as well as new pressure sustaining valves <br /> and flow meter (purchased through existing contract) . <br /> In the event that SJRWMD and IRC staff negotiate that the new well is to be located in a <br /> different location, additional services may be required and are not included in this work <br /> authorization. <br /> Contract documents and specifications will be prepared for submittal at the completion level . <br /> One design review workshop / meeting will be held with County staff. <br /> Part A — Design Drawings <br /> Detailed design will consist of preparation of the well and piping drawings . Standard details <br /> will also be prepared . Construction drawings will be prepared using AutoCAD format. <br /> Part B — Contract and Technical Specifications <br /> The technical specifications will detail the materials and methods of construction to be utilized . <br /> Consultant's standard master construction specifications will be used as the basis for the <br /> technical specifications for the project. Preferred manufacturers and suppliers will be listed in <br /> the specifications . IRC Utilities will prepare the necessary contract forms (Division 0 and 1 ) for <br /> the project. Specifications for well abandonment will also be prepared. <br /> Part C - Design Progress Submittals <br /> Construction drawings and specifications will be produced and submitted for County final <br /> review at the completion level . The drawings will be provided on bound 11 x 17-inch sheets . <br /> The final design submittal will be defined as a set of drawings and specifications that is <br /> complete and biddable, but subject to final comment from FDEP and the County. <br /> B -5 mh I092. aoc <br />
