1 . 3 USE OF PUBLIC STREETS FOR HAUL ROADS <br /> A . Prior to construction , the CONTRACTOR shall designate all proposed haul <br /> roads to be used during the life of the project. Any earth or other materials <br /> spilled from trucks shall be removed by the CONTRACTOR and streets <br /> cleaned to the satisfaction of the Owner. He further shall be responsible for <br /> repairs to any damages caused by his operations , prior to final payment . <br /> B . All trucks carrying earth shall be covered while moving with an appropriate <br /> tarpaulin . Should trucks hauling earth fail to cover their loads , the <br /> CONTRACTOR will be given two (2 ) written warnings , after which the <br /> CONTRACTOR shall pay a fine of $50 per uncovered truck to the Owner <br /> when invoked by the Owner to Owner's Engineer. All cleanup shall be the <br /> responsibility of the CONTRACTOR. <br /> C . All trucks/moving equipment shall have backup warning horns in proper <br /> working order while on the job site . <br /> SECTION 01610 TRANSPORTATION AND HANDLING OF <br /> MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT <br /> 1 . 1 GENERAL <br /> A. Make all arrangements for transportation , delivery and handling of equipment and <br /> materials required for prosecution and completion of the Work. <br /> B . Shipments of materials to CONTRACTOR or Subcontractors shall be delivered to <br /> the site only during regular working hours . Shipments shall be addressed and <br /> consigned to the proper party giving name of Project, street number and city. <br /> Shipments shall not be delivered to OWNER except where otherwise directed . <br /> C . If necessary to move stored materials and equipment during construction , <br /> CONTRACTOR shall move or cause to be moved materials and equipment <br /> without any additional compensation . <br /> 1 . 2 DELIVERY <br /> A . Arrange deliveries of products in accord with construction schedules and in ample <br /> time to facilitate inspection prior to installation . <br /> B . Coordinate deliveries to avoid conflict with Work and conditions at site and to <br /> accommodate the following : <br /> 1 . Work of other contractors , or OWNER . <br /> 2 . Limitations of storage space . <br /> 3 . Availability of equipment and personnel for handling products . <br /> 4 . OWNER'S use of premises . <br /> C .
