1 . 5 PRODUCT DELIVERY-STORAGE-HANDLING <br /> ' A . General : Handle , store and protect materials and products , including fabricated <br /> ' components , by methods and means which will prevent damage, deterioration and <br /> losses (and resulting delays ) , thereby ensuring highest quality results as the <br /> performance of the work progresses . Control delivery schedules so as to minimize <br /> unnecessary long-term storage at the project site prior to installation . <br /> 1 . 6 PREPARATION FOR INSTALLATION <br /> ' A . Pre- Installation Conferences : Well in advance of the installation of every major unit <br /> of work which requires coordination with other work, meet at the project site with <br /> installers and representatives of manufacturers and fabricators who are involved in <br /> or affected by the unit of work, and in its coordination or integration with other work <br /> which has preceded or will follow. Advise the ENGINEER and OWNER of <br /> ' scheduled meeting dates . At each meeting , review the progress of other work <br /> under consideration , including the requirements of the Contract Documents , <br /> options , related change orders , purchases , deliveries , shop drawings , product data , <br /> ' quality control samples , possible conflicts , compatibility problems , time schedules , <br /> weather limitations , temporary facilities , space and access limitations , structural <br /> limitations , governing regulations , safety, inspection and testing requirements , <br /> ' required performance results , recording requirements , and protection . Record the <br /> significant discussions of each conference , and the agreements and disagreements , <br /> along with the final plan of action . Distribute a record of the meeting promptly to <br /> ' everyone concerned , including the OWNER and ENGINEER . <br /> 6 . Do not proceed with the work if the associated pre-installation conference cannot <br /> ' be concluded successfully. Investigate actions to resolve impediments to the <br /> performance of the work, and reconvene the conference at the earliest date <br /> feasible . <br /> ' C . Installer's Inspection of Conditions : Require q the Installer of each mayor unit of work <br /> to inspect the substrate to receive the work and the conditions under which the work <br /> ' will be performed , and to report (in writing to the CONTRACTOR) unsatisfactory <br /> conditions . Do not proceed with the work until unsatisfactory conditions have been <br /> corrected in a manner acceptable to the Installer. <br /> ' 1 . 7 COORDINATION OF TEST AGENCY WORK <br /> ' A . Coordination : <br /> 1 . General : Afford access and reasonable time in the construction sequence <br /> for OWNER and ENGINEER inspections and tests to be performed . <br /> ' Cooperate with test agencies and provide incidental labor and services <br /> needed for the removal and delivery of test samples , and for inspections and <br /> taking measurements .
