A. The time limit at any stage of the grievance procedure may be extended by <br /> written mutual agreement of the parties involved in that step. <br /> Be A grievance presented at Step 1 and above shall be dated and signed by the <br /> grievant. A decision rendered shall be written to the grievant, with a copy to <br /> the union of it is not the grievant, and shall be dated and signed by the <br /> County' s representative at that step. <br /> C. When a written grievance is presented, the County' s representative shall <br /> return a dated and signed copy of it at that particular step. <br /> D . A grievance not advanced to the higher step within the time limit provided <br /> herein shall be deemed permanently withdrawn and as having been settled on <br /> the basis of the County' s decision most recently given. Failure on the part of <br /> the County' s representative to answer within the time limit set forth in any <br /> step will entitle the grievant to proceed to the next step . <br /> E . A written grievance must set forth the following. <br /> 1 . A complete statement of the grievance and the facts upon which it is <br /> based; <br /> 2 . The section or sections of this agreement claimed to have been violated; <br /> and <br /> 3 . The remedy or correction requested. <br /> In the settlement of any grievance resulting in retroactive adjustment, such adjustment shall be <br /> limited to ten calendar days prior to the date of the filing of the grievance. <br /> Bargaining unit employees cannot use the District' s or County' s grievance or appeal <br /> procedures for any claims falling within the definition of a grievance herein. <br /> 13 <br />
