1 <br /> CO If an employee refuses overtime which the Employer gets someone else to <br /> perform, the overtime will be charged against the employee who refused. If <br /> an employee is in line for an overtime assignment because of the position on <br /> the overtime list, the employee will not be charged as having refused the <br /> assignment if the employee cannot be contacted. <br /> D. If an employee is sick, or on vacation, or on excused absence, and is offered <br /> overtime but refuses it, the employee will not be charged for the overtime <br /> refused. This is not to be interpreted as meaning that an employee is not <br /> subject to call-back while on vacation. For distribution of overtime purposes <br /> an employee shall be considered on vacation from the time the employee <br /> finishes work on the last scheduled work day before going on vacation until <br /> the employee's scheduled starting time on the first scheduled work day after <br /> the employee's vacation. <br /> E. At the end of the payroll period nearest the end of each fiscal year, the <br /> accumulated overtime of the lowest employee in each classification (excluding <br /> employees who are ineligible for overtime) shall be deducted from the <br /> overtime standings of all others in the classification at that location. <br /> F . It is expressly understood that reliable, prompt service is a priority <br /> responsibility to the public we serve. It is expected that all employees will <br /> respond when an emergency or bona fide need exists. The failure to so <br /> respond, except as covered in (D) above, will be cause for disciplinary action, <br /> including termination of employment. <br /> 30. 02 STANDBY TIME <br /> A. In order to provide coverage for services during off-duty hours, it may be <br /> necessary to assign and schedule certain employees to standby duty.
