Public Access Touch Screen Computers / Kiosks (30,000.00) - Lowest Priority
Public access touch screen computers or kiosks can be used to provide information to the
public through easy to use and intuitive interfaces , These units can be built as stand alone
units or as desktop units. The location of the device will determine the configuration
needed .
Recommendation
Indian River County should procure public access touch screen computers or kiosks based
on placement within the department. The County should place these devices as follows
General Services ( 1 ) , Supervisor of Elections (1 ) , Public Libraries (2) , Joint Libraries (1 ) and
Utilities (1 ) .
Recommended Data Procurement for Year Two
Development of GIS data layers in year two should mirror software procurement and
increase the amount of infrastructure related data in the geodatabase .
Stormwater Geodatabase Design (23, 500.00) - Highest Priority
Following up on the development of an asset management software implementation plan ,
development of a stormwater geodatabase design will provide a foundation upon which
complex stormwater analysis can be performed . The database design should consider
currently accepted stormwater models and targeted asset management systems to ensure
compatibility between the two .
Recommendation
Indian River County should procure GIS consultant to perform stormwater database design in
conjunction with County staff.
Sewer and Water Infrastructure Data Development (95,000.00) - Highest Priority
Following up on the development of an asset management software implementation plan ,
focus of data collection should start with some of the basic elements of an asset
management system . Previous work with utilities data exposed a need to perform a more
detailed data collection effort . Data should be developed from digitization of as- built
drawings or from GPS collection ,
Recommendation
The County should procure services from a GIS company to create digital sewer and water
data as well as an integration plan into Indian River County ' s geodatabase .
Parks and Recreation Data Development (42,000.00) - Highest Priority
To support the County 's investment in Parks ad Recreation GIS software , data layers should
be developed in to meet the requirements of the software . Locations of recreational
facilities, athletic fields, trails and pathways as well as infrastructure that support these
facilities should be collected . Data can be collected from interpretation of aerial
photographs, from existing maps or collected using GPS .
