pipelines shall be held to the minimum necessary in order to <br /> ensure as quiet an operation as possible. <br /> 13 .2 .2 .2 .4 Sanitary Facilities. The CONTRACTOR shall supply and <br /> maintain, at minimum, one ( 1 ) temporary sanitary facility for <br /> the use of land based employees and subcontractors. The <br /> facility shall be conveniently located in the vicinity of the <br /> beach disposal operation. Sanitary facilities shall be of an <br /> approved chemical type with regular servicing, as approved <br /> by the ENGINEER and the Indian River County Health <br /> Department and shall move with the discharge point. The <br /> facility shall be removed at the end of the project. <br /> 13 .2.2 .2 . 5 Solid Wastes. Solid wastes (including clearing debris) shall <br /> be placed in containers, which are emptied on a regular <br /> schedule. All handling and disposal shall be conducted to <br /> prevent contamination of water, soil, or air. No steel, cables, <br /> wire, pipe, drums or any other debris shall be disposed <br /> overboard. No burial of waste materials by the <br /> CONTRACTOR will be permitted. The CONTRACTOR <br /> shall at all times keep the Project Area free from <br /> accumulations of waste material or debris caused by his or her <br /> employees or work and shall remove same when necessary or <br /> required by the ENGINEER. <br /> 13 .2 .2.2.6 Fuel Transfer. Transfers of fuel, oil or any hazardous <br /> material shall be conducted in accordance with U. S. Coast <br /> Guard regulations (including, but not limited to, 33 CFR <br /> 156). <br /> 13 .2 .2.2.7 Fuel Dispensing. Secondary containment, which is capable <br /> of holding 110 % of the tank contents, must be provided for <br /> each fuel storage tank and placed on a level surface. Fuel <br /> dispensing areas shall have available a 4-foot square, 16- <br /> gauge metal pan with borders banded up and welded at <br /> corners directly below the bibb. Edges of the pans shall be fl- <br /> inch minimum in depth to ensure that no contamination of the <br /> ground takes place. Pans shall be emptied immediately after <br /> every dispensing of fuel. Should any spilling of fuel occur, <br /> the CONTRACTOR shall immediately excavate the <br /> contaminated ground and dispose of it offsite in an approved <br /> area. <br /> 13 . 2 . 2.2. 8 Oil and Hazardous Material Spills and Containment.
