The CONTRACTOR shall prevent overflow during transit over, or 1 ,500 ft <br /> upcurrent of, hardbottom areas. <br /> 30. LAYOUT OF WORK FOR BEACH FILL PLACEMENT <br /> 30. 1 Monuments. Only the survey monuments shown on the plans shall be used for surveying <br /> beach profiles for the measurement of beach fill quantities. <br /> 30. 2 Lavout. From the monuments, control data and elevations shown on the Contract <br /> Drawings, the CONTRACTOR shall complete the layout of the work and shall be <br /> responsible for all measurements that may be required for the execution of the layout of the <br /> work, subject to such modifications as the COUNTY may require to meet changed <br /> conditions or as a result of necessary modifications to the contract work. The layout of the <br /> work shall be based on the cross-sections and not the plan views in the Construction Plans. <br /> CONTRACTOR is responsible for verification of all horizontal and vertical control <br /> provided in the Contract Drawings. The majority of the control points provided in the <br /> Contract Drawings were established by others for the purposes of beach profile monitoring. <br /> CONTRACTOR must verify all horizontal and vertical control for all monuments within <br /> the project limits prior to construction. <br /> 30.3 Responsibility. The CONTRACTOR shall provide all stakes, templates, platforms, <br /> equipment, tools, materials, and labor at the CONTRACTOR's expense as may be required <br /> in laying out any part of the work from the monuments, control data and elevations <br /> established by the COUNTY. The COUNTY shall furnish all boundary surveys and <br /> establish base lines for locating the principal component parts of the work together with a <br /> suitable number of bench marks adjacent to the work as shown in the Contract Documents. <br /> From the information provided by the COUNTY, unless otherwise specified in the Contract <br /> Documents, the CONTRACTOR shall develop and make all detail surveys needed for <br /> construction such as slope stakes, stakes for pipe locations and other working points, lines, <br /> and elevations. The CONTRACTOR shall be responsible for maintaining and preserving <br /> all monuments, stakes and other markers established by the COUNTY unless and until <br /> authorized to remove them. If such markers are destroyed by the CONTRACTOR or <br /> through the CONTRACTOR negligence, prior to their authorized removal, they may be <br /> replaced at the discretion of the COUNTY, and the expense of replacement shall be <br /> deducted from any amounts due or to become due the CONTRACTOR. <br /> 30.4 Construction Stakes. All fill grade stakes shall be steel pipe approved by the COUNTY and <br /> shall be completely removed in their entirety immediately after final acceptance of the <br /> section. Stakes must be long enough to extend a minimum of 6 feet above finished grade <br /> without the use of mechanical joints. The CONTRACTOR shall be responsible for <br /> removing, in their entirety, all construction stakes, ranges, and other devices utilized to <br /> delineate the beach construction template.
