i <br />1.09 PIPE MARKING <br />A. Pipe marking is included in Division 9, but it shall be the Contractor's responsibility to <br />assist, as required by the Owner, in identifying pipe contents, direction of flow and all else <br />required for proper marking of pipe. <br />1.10 VALVE IDENTIFICATION <br />A. The Contractor shall prepare a valve schedule for all valves required for the work showing <br />a number, the location, type, function, and normal operating position, for each valve. The <br />schedule shall be submitted to the Engineer for approval not less than 30 days prior to <br />start-up. <br />B. The Contractor shall furnish tags for all valves required for the work. Valve tags shall be <br />2 -in diameter, 19 gauge, brass or plastic, with brass hooks suitable for attaching the tag to <br />the valve operator. Tags shall be stamped or etched with the valve number and the <br />information on the valve schedule coded in a system provided by the Owner. Submit two <br />samples of the type of tag proposed and the manufacturer's standard color chart and letter <br />styles to the Engineer for approval. <br />C. The Contractor shall install valve tags on all valves required for the Work. <br />1.11 NOISE LIMITATIONS <br />A. All equipment to be furnished under this Contract, unless specified otherwise in the <br />technical specifications, shall be designed to ensure that the sound pressure level does not <br />exceed 85 decibels over a frequency range of 37.8 to 9600 cycles per second at a distance <br />of 3 -ft from any portion of the equipment, under any load condition, when tested using <br />standard equipment and methods. Noise levels shall include the noise from the motor. <br />Mufflers or external baffles shall not be acceptable for the purpose of reducing noise. Data <br />on noise levels shall be included with the shop drawing submittal. <br />1.12 SPARE PARTS <br />A. Where spare parts are specified in the technical Sections, fiunish all spare parts <br />recommended by the manufacturer or system supplier for one year of service. In addition, <br />Furnish all spare parts.itemized in each Section. <br />B. Collect and store all spare parts in an area to be designated by the Owner. Furnish the <br />Owner with an inventory listing all spare parts, the equipment they are associated with, the <br />name and address of the supplier and the delivered cost of each item. Copies of actual <br />invoices for each item shall be furnished with the inventory to substantiate the delivery <br />cost. <br />C. Spare parts shall be packed in cartons, properly labeled with indelible markings with <br />complete descriptive information including manufacturer, part number, part name and <br />equipment for which the part is to be used and shall be properly treated for one year of <br />storage. <br />044572017 <br />01170-3 <br />
