A. Verify reinforcement and other items to be cast into concrete are accurately placed, <br />positioned securely, and will not cause hardship in placing concrete. <br />3.02 PREPARATION <br />A. Install vapor barrier under all slabs, footings, and other concrete exposed to earth. Lap <br />joints a minimum of 6 inches. Do not disturb or damage vapor barrier while placing <br />concrete. Repair damaged vapor barrier. <br />3.03 PLACING CONCRETE <br />A. Notify Engineer minimum 48 hours prior to commencement of concreting operations. <br />B. Place concrete in accordance with ACI 301. <br />C. Hot Weather Placement ACI 301. <br />D. Cold Weather Placement ACI 301. <br />E. Ensure reinforcement, inserts. embedded parts, formed joints are not disturbed <br />during concrete placement. <br />F. Place concrete continuously between predetermined construction and control joints. Do <br />not break or interrupt successive pours such that cold joints occur. <br />G. Contractor shall be responsible for means and methods to ensure concrete is poured in a <br />dry area. <br />H. Contractor needs to use mechanical vibrating equipment for consolidating concrete and <br />should have a minimum of (2) two operable vibrators on the job. <br />3.04 FINISHING <br />A. Finish outdoor slabs with light broom finish. <br />Be Interior slabs shall be mechanical trowel finish. <br />3.05 PATCHING <br />A. Notify Engineer immediately upon removal of forms. No surfaces are to be patched or <br />backfilled prior to being reviewed by the Engineer. <br />Be Patch imperfections as requested by the Engineer or his field representative. <br />3.06 DEFECTIVE CONCRETE <br />A. Modify or replace concrete not conforming to required levels, lines, details, and <br />elevations. <br />044572017 <br />03300-4 <br />
