B. Buses <br />1. Bus bars for the mains shall be of tin plated copper. Full size tin plated copper neutral bars <br />shall be included. Bus bar taps for panels with single pole branches shall be arranged for <br />sequence phasing of the branch circuit devices. Bussing shall be braced throughout to <br />conform to industry standard practice governing short circuit stresses in panelboards. <br />Phase bussing shall be full height without reduction. Cross connectors shall be tin plated <br />copper. Each panel shall be provided with a ground bus bar, with removable link/jumper <br />between neutral and ground bus. The ground bus shall be sized to the maximum number <br />of circuit breakers that can be installed in the panelboard. <br />2. Neutral bussing shall have a suitable lug for each outgoing feeder requiring a neutral <br />connection. <br />3. Spaces for future circuit breakers shall be bussed for the maximum device that can be <br />fitted into them. <br />4. Tin plated copper equipment ground bars shall be furnished. <br />C. Boxes <br />1. Recessed or flush mounted boxes shall be made from galvanized code gauge steel having <br />multiple knockouts, unless otherwise noted. Boxes shall be of sufficient size to provide a <br />minimum gutter space of 4 -in on all sides. <br />2. Surface mounted boxes and trims shall have an internal and external finish as specified in <br />Paragraph 2.04D4 below. <br />3. At least four studs for mounting the panelboard interior shall be furnished. <br />4. All conduit entrances shall be field punched. <br />D. Trim <br />1. Hinged doors covering all circuit breaker handles shall be included in all panel trims. <br />2. Doors shall have semi flush type cylinder lock and catch, except that doors over 484n in <br />height shall have a vault handle and 3 -point catch, complete with lock, arranged to fasten <br />door at top, bottom and center. Door hinges shall be concealed. Furnishtwo keys for each <br />lock All locks shall be keyed alike; directory frame and card having a transparent cover <br />shall be furnished on each door. All trims shall be door-inAoor type construction. <br />3. The trims shall be fabricated from code gauge sheet steel. <br />4. All exterior and interior steel surfaces of the panelboard shall be properly cleaned and <br />finished with ANSI 255.1, No. 49 or 61 light gray paint over a rust inhibiting <br />phosphatized coating. The finish paint shall be of a type to which field applied paint will <br />adhere. <br />5. Trims for flush panels shall overlap the box by at least 3/4 -in all around. Surface mounted <br />panel trims shall have the same width and height as the box. Trims shall be fastened with <br />044572017 <br />16470-2 <br />
